We did leave on time. Well, almost. 9:20. Not bad. A gorgeous day, The October scenery in the mountains of West Virginia is spectacular. Chloe (what I call the GPS) did a fine job. She even told us how to manuever around the portions of Routes 26 and 40 damaged by Helene. We saw some huge stones and tree branches askew along the sides of the roads. Got to the assigned restaurant and There was Joe! Yay. So good to see him. We’ll see Bonnie tomorrow. Talk, talk: their new house, Christine’s new house , Asheville’s woes, the election. Time flew . We will meet again tomorrow. Found our cabin on the water. Very nice indeed. Maybe we really will get to bed before midnight.
