Or enough, or the right ones. I didn’t want to repeat the WOW. But I think I must . I was going on and on about Mesa Verde. And it was spectacular. Then Yesterday we saw Arches National Park and Christine told you about those wonders. And they were. Amazing. Who could believe what we saw. Nature in overdrive. Today we went to Bryce National Park. One didn’t drive through and around the hoodoos but had to park at certain points and then look down on them, clustered in interesting groupings . Hoodoos are formations made millions of years ago from sandstone slabs or walls cracked by ice, eroded by wind and weather. They look like upright columns or tubes. Most interesting, but not the drama of Arches.
And then we went to Zion. Think of every astounding adjective in the thesaurus. Apply it. Expand it. There you are. Megaliths of sandstone shaped as though giants lived in massive, ancient castles. Not just large New York style building size. Imagine those English manor houses that go on forever. Now triple that. And other colossal shapes of every kind.
We drove around unbelieving. The road turned again and again and I prayed: Jesus, Oh, my God, Lord all mighty! We’ve heard of Zion, but why hadn’t we heard of this miracle? Whew!
Then we aimed for Las Vegas. It took us three hours. From Utah, through Arizona, and now Nevada. Great scenery again. Sometimes mountains surrounding us, sometimes long vistas. Approaching Las Vegas we saw lights. In the city they were blinking, rolling, flashing, making pictures. I’m sitting on the 17th floor, watching the Sphere, with its exterior covered in moving LED displays, like watching a spherical tv screen programmed by a madman.
Too much!
