What a Wonderful Life

This has been an extraordinary trip so far. It is Saturday night, Barely a week and a half on the road. So many wonderful people we caught up with.

Left Cocoa Beach this morning to see Francine again as well as her daughter Connie, whom I hadn’t seen for three years. We talked and talked in a funky lake-side restaurant.

How to convey what fun and satisfaction it is to reconnect to dear friends again. I met Francine in 1955 at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, OH. She has some physical problems now. But she will persist!

After lunch we drove west from Orlando to Niceville. Honest. Checked into our hotel and then to a Hurricane Restaurant. A sports bar. Ordinarily not my type, but, my, we had fun, Chris and I. We thought about crazy things and one laugh giggled into another. And the coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries with cole slaw was excellent.

So now, in the central time zone and an extra hour granted us by the daylight savings time change that orders us to “fall back” we gain some snooze time. Who can complain? And tomorrow morning we see Joe and Eileen. It’s a wonderful Life.
