Paradoxes

Four and a half days so far from Wednesday morning to now, Sunday evening. Filled with so many experiences. So many happy because of being with and talking to and sharing with loved ones. Others sad because of mourning Barbara’s death. Yet being with Barbara’s children was happy because we were talking and sharing and reacquainting ourselves with them We went again to Jason and Charlene’s house this afternoon. Ate and drank and told stories. Then they ALL played together. Mark who is a professional saxophonist, Mary on flute, Bob on keyboard, Charlene on Frenchhorn, Kathy on percussion, and Dan on guitar. So many songs. My favorite: “When the Saints Come Marching In.” And mixed in, there was laughter and there were tears. I felt so glad I was there. A satisfaction. Would one call that happiness? Perhaps one could say it’s life that has so many facets to it.
